June Volunteer Days at North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Natural Area

Help maintain & restore North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Natural Area!

Throughout the month of June, North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Natural Area will be closed to the public for much-needed rehabilitation & restoration work. Volunteer days to support the rehabilitation effort will be held on June 6th, 9th, 14th, 17th, 21st, 25th, and 28th.

Volunteers can sign up to help remove litter from Chickamauga Creek and surrounding rocks and lands, develop new trails as access points to the creek banks, or close current rogue trails so that the natural area grounds can be improved.

This important work will facilitate continued conservation of the area’s fragile natural features, including federally listed flora species and critical habitat. Registered volunteers will be able to enjoy North Chickamauga State Natural Area for a few hours in the afternoon after each event.

Advance registration (required) & relevant logistical details are available by contacting (423) 566-2229 or Marcianne.Oday@tn.gov.
