Tom Church Studios

Tom Church’s Studio

Tom and Susan Church have lived and played in Belvidere, Tennessee on the Edge of the Highland Rim just below the Cumberland Plateau for the last 29 years. The area is blessed with an abundance of excellent hardwoods, which the two utilize in their craft.

Tom has been actively working with wood for the last 30 years. He first apprenticed with his Dad at age 4, straightening crooked nails from a bucket his dad kept for “entertainment”. Humble beginnings indeed, Tom now designs & builds furniture when he’s not turning.

Susan has apprenticed with Tom, “doing the dirty work.” Recently she began building boxes from Tom’s scrap pile. She uses bronze pieces from their friend, Jeanie Stephenson and other found objects for her handles. Now they compete for shop time having all the fun that any two people can stand.
