Directions from Nashville to the Valley:

  • From I-40 East, turn of and take the Peavine Road exit #322 from the interstate. As you turn off the interstate you will go up the ramp and at the light turn right .
  • Continue to go straight until you come to a 4 way stop, after stopping go straight. You are now on the bypass around Crossville.
  • You will follow this until the next red light, at this light turn left. You are now on Hwy 127 going south. This will be 2.4 miles to the split at highway 68.
  • Follow this south, you will come to a split as highway 68 goes to the left you will take a right and stay on highway 127 south. From the highway 68 split to the main entrance to Cumberland Mountain is .6 miles. From Cumberland Mountain Entrance to the Basses Creek Bridge is 5.0 miles.
  • You should continue south on highway 127 until after you pass Basses Creek bridge start looking for a left turn onto Brown Road. This road is just after you have topped a hill. From Basses Creek Bridge to the Brown Road turn it is 1.6 miles.
  • Brown Road is a tar and chip road you will follow it until it tees into Rhea Road, here turn to the left. This distance to this turn is .7 miles.
  • You follow Rhea road until it tees at Old highway 28 (for a distance of .5 miles) at the dumpster station. Here you turn right and go south on old highway 28. Follow old 28 for a distance of 2.6 miles.
  • This is the road that you will turn left onto the driveway that goes onto the Valley property. The distance to the driveway turn is 2.5 miles. So continue down as you go off the Plateau you begin your descent into the Sequatchie Valley. You will make two sharp turns going down, so watch your speed and the road is narrow also. Again this distance to the driveway turn is 2.5 miles.
  • As you approach the 2.5 mile mark, you will notice to your left a gravel road with a brown single arm swing gate. You will also notice the signs for the Head of Sequatchie segment of the Cumberland Trail. Follow this gravel road to the bottom of the hill. You will have arrived at the destination.

Directions from Knoxville to the Valley

  • From I-40 East take the Peavine Road exit #322 from the interstate.As you turn off the interstate you will go up the ramp and at the light turn left and go over the overpass.
  • Continue to go straight thru the next red light. You will come to a 4 way stop, after stopping go straight. You are now on the bypass around Crossville.
  • You will follow this until the next red light, at this light turn left. You are now on Hwy 127 going south.
  • Follow this south, you will come to a split as highway 68 goes to the left you will take a right and stay on highway 127 south.
  • You should continue south on highway 127 until after you pass Basses Creek bridge start looking for a left turn onto Brown Road. This road is just after you have topped a hill.
  • Brown Road is a tar and chip road you will follow it until it tees into Rhea road, here turn to the left. No sign here now.
  • You follow this road until it tees at Old highway 28 at the dumpster station. Here you turn right and go south on old highway 28.
  • This is the road that you will turn left onto the driveway that goes onto the Valley property. The distance to the driveway turn is 2.5 miles.
